Driven Steel Tube Piling

Driven Steel Tube Piling

Driven Steel Tube Piling

Steel tubes are commonly used where stiff or dense ground conditions are present or where the likelihood of obstructions would rule out precast concrete piling.

Tube diameters range from 140mm to 900mm and can be installed as single pile support to legs of electricity pylons.

They can also be driven closed end for later ground loop installation for ground source heat energy requirements.

Piles can be driven at a rake of 1 in 4 where required for increased lateral resistance.

The steel tube piles are often sourced from surplus stock from the offshore oil and gas industry, offering competitive prices and re-purposing materials, helping to provide a sustainable solution.

Steel tubes can be driven utilising various sizes of piling rig including Junttan PM20LC and excavator mounted Movax side grip and drop hammer attachments.
